I began using photography as my artistic medium at 13, taking summer classes at Idyllwild Arts Academy and classes the rest of the year at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences. Although I frequently did landscape photography, it was my photographic studies at Rhode Island School of Design where my visual language really took shape.
I approach my subject matter as if I am encountering it for the first time. Whether it is an interior, cityscape, landscape, or somewhere in between, I approach my environment with a freshness that allows me to visualize it as something new. This allows me to find interest and beauty in spaces that are often overlooked.
Most of the images are taken with a 4×5 large format camera, and printed large scale, generally 20″x24″.
